FEX LEARNING CENTER
UI and UX Design for a financial company's learning resource center.
While working with a client in the real estate investment and financial space, was asked to assist in the creation of a pillar page that would provide all necessary learning resources for one of their more complicated financial services. The client had found their customers were struggling to understand the qualifications and process of receiving a 1031 exchange, an investment property transactio that allows the investor to defer paying capital gains taxes by reinvesting in another property.
Their original solution to help customers understand this process was to provide a detailed outline document. Through discussions with the client collaboratively developed the idea of creating a "learning center" section. The idea behind this being that creating a fully interactive section of the site would increase the educational value to users, ease the difficulty of the learning process, and allow users to more effectively refer to information as needed.
Per the client request, created a low fidelity wireframe that would help facilitate further discussions about the learning resource center's potential value without overcommiting to building it out. Added the additional features of a flexible filter system, created a space for featured content, increased user control in content type selection, and implemented search functionality.
